Macaulay Snapshot NYC

Last weekend I wiped the dust of my camera and went outside with it for the first time in long time. I'm not one of those people that constantly carry their camera with them and take pictures of everything they see. Macaulay Honors College required all the student from the graduating year of 2013 to take a photo of our neighborhood and it turned out to be a "cool" requirement. I went to the park nearby that i found to be "my neighborhood" because it is the place I grew up physically and mentally, but also the place I hope to return to. I hope that one day I can give back to the community there that helped me become the person I am today. So I took a photo of the jungle gym and the statue of a bear. If you ask anyone in the area about the bear they would know exactly what you are talking about. When I finished with these photos I couldn't help but take photos of everything else: street signs, houses, and cars. It became mildly addicting. I would try to capture different angles to show the different views and to eliminate sunlight or even add some. When I finished with my photo shooting spree, I flipped through all the shots and deleted the plain, boring ones. I was left with about three but I found the photo of the jungle gym/bear to best express my neighborhood. It is the place I can most relate to, relax within, and credit all my success to.
