Buying

Where are the books from?

The most common way he gets his books is from rabbinic libraries.

He prefers to buy from in the tri-state area. He used to purchase from Israel and Europe, but now he only will if they are rare books because of shipping prices (Krausz).

He doesn’t have any employees – all sales, purchases, pickups done by him. He says he can pick up to a thousand books himself.

He once got a call from Manhattan telling him he had two hours to get to an apartment overlooking Central Park before they would send all the books to the dump. The collection Mizrahi recovered that day was worth $10,000 (Ungar-Sargon).
