The Dominican Republic has a unique and fascinating history. The geography of the D.R., its leaders, and more are factors that have contributed to the various immigrant waves of Dominicans to the United States. The immigrant experience is a journey that has built the foundation of this nation, specifically New York City. By interviewing an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, I have gained an understanding of their life experiences, reasons for migration, and how they have impacted NYC for the better.
