Tito Puente is one of the most highly recognized figures in Latin music history. In fact, many people know him as “The King of Latin Music.” The Palladium Ballroom, a famous venue Puente performed at, served as one of the many few places in New York City where people were able to unite despite their cultural differences. The love of Puente’s music brought them together at a time where there was a lot of tension between many immigrant groups.
