The goal of our project was to try and determine if climate change has any tangible impact on the process of tree leaves changing color. To do this, we analyzed 17 Betula Lenta, more commonly referred to as sweet birch trees, over the course of 5 weeks. We documented the rate at which the leaves of these trees changed color and fell. Then, we compared our data to a Harvard study which also analyzed fall leaf coloration from 1991 to 2019. We compiled our data and the Harvard data and drew conclusions based on the differences between our data and a 2021 prediction we generated from the Harvard data.
