Hola, it’s Isabel!
Hey, everyone! My name is Isabel Vulakh and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Although there are a great deal of things i’d like to talk about, i’ll just have to keep it simple for this intro. My parents are extreme food and wine connoisseurs, and thanks to them I’m quite the foodie. I love to travel, and I’ve had the amazing opportunity of traveling to 10 countries and 19 cities this year alone, trying new foods, and exploring different cultures. I’ve been to most North European countries, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, France, Monaco, Belgium, and Germany in the past few years and I definitely hope to expand all over the map when I get older. Born to sometimes overbearing Russian parents, my parents felt the need to enroll me in nearly every type of sport, dance, or activity that was possibly available regardless if I was good at it or not. I was kindly asked to leave the chorus group at the local YMCA when I was 8 (I’m surprised they didn’t ask earlier to be honest). I quit gymnastics because I still couldn’t do a split after three years. Art was another activity my parents couldn’t see I clearly wasn’t meant for. They just didn’t seem to notice the stick figures and lopsided houses that kept popping up in my sketchbook. Let’s just say that when I applied for a gifted and talented middle school, I was rejected for art and placed in math talent. Eight years later, I’m here. In Macaulay. At one of the best business schools in NYC. Here, I plan to pursue my interest in business and finance, but still explore all kinds of new things. I’m looking forward to this class, meeting new people, and learning about the wonderful world of art and theater.
