Keep Holdin’ On. It’s Holden at Your Service

My full name is Holden Corey Stein and I plan on majoring in Finance at Baruch College. I grew up with two older sisters, Jenny and Erica, and spent my entire life living in my home in Floral Park, NY. Since Floral Park is technically part of NYC but has the feel of a Long Island suburb, I have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities such as playing football with my friends, watching a movie, or going to the beach. My music tastes focus mainly on Indie and Alternative music, but I always like to hear out my friends’ recommendations and songs I hear just walking around. In terms of TV, my favorite television show used to be 24, but I enjoy any show produced by Netflix and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

When I was in High School I participated in Public Forum debate early on but found it was not really the right activity for me and gave it up at the end of sophomore year. In the end, the risk was worth the reward since I later was elected S.O. Vice President and was featured in many episodes of our school’s television network, Wolverine TV. In this post is even a picture of my one of my most popular campaign posters. I also liked to compete our school’s business plan competition, a tradition I hope to continue here at Baruch.

I consider myself well rounded however I am not artistic and I am not able to enjoy theater or artwork to the extent some of my peers do. I am looking forward to the Arts in NYC Seminar for it will push my comfort zone and enrich my knowledge of the arts. I will still probably not be able to sing, dance, or draw, but hopefully I will be able develop a greater and more passionate appreciation for art.
