Hi my name is Steven Wang and I am from long Island I went to Highschool in queens and I am majoring in finance.

My favorite artist is Kanye West, I like McDonald’s fries and my favorite show is one piece. A good moive I watched recently was Chungking express by Wong Kar-wai. I want to learn to cook and stuff also trying to workout and procrastinate less this year.

I went to the UK this summer was a cool experience.

My name is Yinglin Chen. I am from Brooklyn. My intended major is international business.

In my free time, I like to experiment with arts and crafts projects such as crocheting and felting. However, I had to put those hobbies aside due to my busy school and work schedules in high school. When I wanted to restart crocheting again, I soon gave up because the “magic circle” was not going well. As a perfectionist, I reassembled it multiple times, and eventually gave up because I was too frustrated. Here are some of my projects before I gave up: 

I also enjoy baking a lot. Baking is very therapeutic for me, and it calms me down from anxiety and stress. I mainly bake cakes because cakes are just so fun to make and delicious. I have also experimented with bread before, but I still prefer cakes better. Here are some of the things I have baked:

Over the summer, I worked for a nonprofit organization, and I got to see my community in a perspective that I have never seen before. It made me realize that a lot of immigrants face language barriers and social injustices in our community, and we can help them by simply translating for them and advocating for changes. I also participated in multiple cleanup events around my neighborhood. That experience definitely made me more determined to become someone that can give back to their community and help those in need.

Hi everybody!! My name is Anna (pronounced An-nah) and I’m from Queens. One thing about me is that I love music – whether I’m doing homework, commuting, or studying you will always find me with my AirPods on full volume. My friends told me on numerous occasions that they can hear my music from across the table, so I won’t be surprised if my hearing is greatly impaired?. I enjoy listening to a variety of genres such as RnB, pop, and K-pop. I love LANY, and I have been listening to their new song XXL.

Both of these LANY albums were great 🙂

Apart from listening to music, I also really like badminton. I have been playing since middle school. The sport itself is really fun, but I also like it because it makes me feel closer to my parents (they also like badminton and played it back in China).

I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy! I’m up to date with it, and I’m excited for the next season. I also love the Bridgerton series and The Summer I Turned Pretty (Team Jeremiah!).

Lastly, I really love bubble tea. It’s amazing. Baruch is great because there’s like a billion bubble tea shops nearby?. My go to drink will always be passion fruit green tea with boba. The boba is a must.

Hi everyone! I’m Cailyn Kitchens, I’m from Staten Island and I’m a finance major. A big part of my life is gymnastics, I did artistic gymnastics for 15 years and have worked at my gymnastics facility for 6 years. I was also the captain of my high school’s stunt team. Another interest of mine is graphic design, I was an editor for my high school’s yearbook and really enjoy creating designs with platforms like Canva or Photoshop.

Some other things about me, my favorite colors are blue and sage green and my favorite food is sushi. My favorite tv show is Gilmore Girls, which I’ve rewatched over 20 times, but I also like Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, New Girl, and many more which are probably too long to list. I listen to a lot of music and my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Lana Del Rey. Lastly, I love to travel and this spring I went to Iceland! Hi! I’m Michaela Kokkinos, and I’m majoring in Biology. I’m passionate about getting a career in research or laboratory work. Some things to know about me are I have a cat named Squinch who is built like Garfield, I have 12 goldfish that have been with me longer than I was born, and I used to be on a swim team for 10 years. I also enjoy listening to any type of music or artists ranging from K-pop to Drake and my favorite, Taylor Swift.

I also enjoy watching TV shows or documentaries on Netflix about crime. I’ve watched almost every murder docuseries on Netflix and finished watching Criminal Minds. I also play volleyball but I’m not very good at it since I managed to break my finger hitting the ball. For fun, I like to go album shopping with my friends as well as go to fancy-looking restaurants and try out new foods.

My full name is Ahbab Junayed. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you call me AJ. I am a person that loves the MCU. I love to watch tv shows and movies when I have free time. I also really love listening to TED Talks. Finally, a place that I would love to visit would be Italy due to the amazing people and the greater scenery.

Hi! My name is Stephanie and I am from Brooklyn, NY.

I believe that the greatest gifts in life come in the form of stories: stories that are learned in our grandparents’ homes, on rugs of living rooms, under skies freckled with stars, and in our mother tongue. In fact, I believe so deeply in stories that I have dedicated parts of my life to crafting these tales.

Every Sunday, I teach dance for three hours on Zoom to younger girls from around the globe. Together, we explore new styles and create new pieces that reflect our lives and express what we want to capture. Below is a video of the ending of a ballet duet by two sisters recreating “Swan Lake.” A lot of details are captured not only by the choreography itself but also by the costumes, which both the instructors and the students plan and coordinate together as well.

I am also interested in the legal field and participated in moot court throughout high school. Moot court is a form of oral advocacy that allows me to craft arguments in favor of my position and present it to a mock Supreme Court. In becoming a storyteller, I have learned that there is a story behind every scar, every trophy, every sacrifice, every choice, and everyone. Understanding someone means understanding their story. We are all living stories and no story comes from nowhere.

Hello everyone! My name is Sophie Blumenthal and I am an entrepreneurship major from Long Island, New York. I also plan on having a concentration in journalism and in gender studies. Some things I’m passionate about include music, skincare, and female empowerment. I hope to start my own beauty company one day called Glow Squad and use a portion of the proceeds to help encourage more women to go into business fields.
