Lost

by Margaret Iuni

Driving upstate with you was always an adventure because I never could admit when we were lost. We passed plenty of rest stops and gas stations as you laughed at my stubbornness. Eventually, you’d find us on the map and we’d get back on track. The doctors said you saved that kid’s life when you swerved. The car’s totaled, but the map is fine. I know it’s too late now, but I’m admitting it. I’m lost without you.
