As I lay me down to drink,
I pray the Lord my liver will keep.
If I should die before I wake,
Than it shall be one happy day.
If I should live for other days,
My disappointment will remain.
Guinness, unto thee I pray,
Drinking thoust throughout the day.
Peaceful am I within thy hold,
Peaceful shall I sleep tonight.
Bless my drink, the whole pack bless,
Help me to embrace my death.
Keep me always in thy grip,
As I take my last night’s sip.
