Take me to that starry light up in the sky
Carry me through the dark night, way up high
I’ll spread my arms apart and fly
To a distant world that I can call mine
Oh, the grass will be green, perfect as can be
With flowers strewn around and tall birch trees
Iridescent blue with clouds pure white
And the sunlight streaming through, what a sight
Yes, there’ll be a place for you and me
A place where we can just be
We’ll play tag until we pant
And we’ll laugh until we can’t
My other half, we are yin and yang combined
A balance of opposites perfectly aligned
You appear to me a dreamy apparition
And all the same, a masterful composition
Two halves, we’ll make our way to the stream of serenity
And find a mirror sitting still with no hidden identity
Concealed within are the secrets of the world’s quintessence
The water clear cyan with a fortune for our essence
We’ll look at our reflections across the water where they lay
And they’ll stare back at us, winking bright as day
No ripples in our picture, but for the twinkling of our eyes
For you and I will have aged to become so wise
I’ll push you onto the lush grass and you’ll pull me down
We’ll sit side by side and make iris flower crowns
And when the horizon is a blur of orange and pink,
We’ll lay back and stare at the specks of white among that midnight ink
I’ll count one, and you count two
And we’ll tell each other stories like we used to
Until the sea of stars has drowned,
And the chirping of birds is the only sound
Yes, there’ll be a place for you and me
A place for hope and a place for dreams
Hey,
You wrote a beautiful poem!
