There’s a monster inside me.
One, two, two two, one, two
I am not like you.
I am a child of the sea, a wild night flower,
always
sea angry like an animal. All heels. Knees. All lips.
The monster says, I live here
in this room of my own. I wonder
wonder what I know what
I know. There is salt in my blood
and I rise from the sea. All woman. All there.
Monster, I have fallen
a wild sea flower.
I invite you in to stay and let us sing,
one, two, two two, one, two
for you are me and I am you
