Dear Allie,

My friend asked if I wanted to have a sleepover at her house one night. I said no because I was scared. Now she asked again and I don’t know what t do! I don’t want her to think Im constantly blowing her off!  I cant tell her- she’ll think Im a baby. I really want to go- I just don’t know what to do.

From,

Scared Snoozer

Dear Scared Snoozer,

The first thing you need to figure out is why your uncomfortable. Is it because you don’t want to sleep at her house? Do you not want to sleep on the floor? Or is it the overall concept of a sleepover? If you don’t want to go to her house, would you be willing to do it at yours? If you don’t want to sleep on the floor, ask if you can sleep on a couch or bed. If you don’t want to sleepover at all but you want to hang out and do sleep-overish stuff, blame it on your parents. Call your friend and say “My mom doesn’t really want me to sleep over, but she said it’s ok if we hang out until like 10. Would that work for you?” It’s polite, and it gets the job done. Hope I could help!

Love,

Allie

Dear Allie,

My sister took French for the first time last year and says she needs to practice over the summer. If she’s practicing for Annoyance 101; she should get an A+. She shouts random French words at random times. “Fromage!” “Chein!” “Verte!” It’s so…. XXX (that’s annoying in French). Please, please, PLEASE help me!

Sincerely,

Furious Frenchie

Dear Furious Frenchie,

This is a very annoying situation to be put in. You have to understand that your “soeur” does need to practice. Maybe ask her if she wants you to quiz her from one of her “livres”. By helping her out once in a while, she might not randomly shout out words. Say to her “I’d like it if you stopped shouting words out all the time. It really bothers me.” Just make sure you are “sympathique” about it. Bonne Chance!

Signing off,

Allie

Becoming famous is not easy. There are so many famous singers in the world; you can become one of them. It takes hard work, dedication, skill and the right amount of luck, but anybody can do it. And maybe that somebody could be you. You’ve got to make a band (form a band with your close friends) or learn the guitar if you want to become a solo vocalist (ex. Taylor Swift) all you have to do is figure out the type of music you want to create. To start off writing lyrics every bit of inspiration counts. Some ideas to get started with lyrics are about pain you’ve experienced, or how happy you’ve been or how lucky you are. Here’s a tip either go on a talent contest or somewhere people will hear you perform, or if its worth one in a million try Youtube you never know if you’ll get chosen for your talent express yourself and show the world what you’re made of.
