My Heart Goes Out to Newtown, Connecticut

I’m sure that anyone reading this has heard about the horrific events that took place this morning in Newtown, Connecticut. I won’t summarize the day, because quite frankly, I don’t think I can. What I will say is that there was too much needless death, and my heart, soul, prayers and hope go out to everyone who was affected by the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

As a Catholic, I feel it almost necessary to say that there’s a reason for everything. God was there when Hurricane Sandy hit; God was there when the shooting in Oregon took place (and other recent tragic shootings that took place in Colorado and Pennsylvania); God is here with us right now. Whatever you believe in, know that you, your friends and your family are not alone. If Sandy has proven anything to me first-hand, it’s that this country will not stay down for long.

Know that this day is over, and we have the future to look towards. We will recover. We will be back, better than ever. God Bless you all, and God Bless the United States of America.
