BioBlitz

Registration for BioBlitz webinars is now open here!

BioBlitz is an annual activity for seminar 3 students from across all of Macaulay’s campuses. You will all take on the mantle of citizen scientists, making scientific observations of a variety of wildlife in New York City in collaboration with taxon leaders – working scientists who study the species that you will be observing.

This year, BioBlitz is different from most other years. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be conducted distantly. You can even participate without  leaving home! It will also take place throughout the month of September. Read more on Macaulay’s BioBlitz 2021 Instructions page.

You will make your observations via iNaturalist, and will participate in Meet-the-Scientist webinars to talk to the taxon leaders about how they go about finding wildlife in NYC, and what they love about what they do.

New: Review the slides from our in-class discussion of BioBlitz and iNaturalist on August 30th. The videos we watched can be found here.
