Public Facing Project

Contested New York is a public facing project that will focus on several key points of socio-economic conflict, struggle, and tension in New York City from the post World War II period to the present. Our guiding questions are: Does NYC always “work,” and what happens when it does not?

Each group will have substantial freedom to shape their particular PFP.  Groups will be expected to conduct research that will explore historical and current corollaries beyond what we explore in class readings.  Groups can make comparisons and chart change over time with respect to their respective topics.  Using a variety of formats (i.e. text, photos, infographics, video, sound, etc.) students will be responsible for collecting and composing material that will provide the building blocks of their group based digital essays.  Shortly after each group is formed and has a topic, each individual should be assigned specific roles within the group in order to maximize efficiency and avoid duplication.  ALL OF THIS will be discussed in class in great detail.

Please consult your ITF, Amanda Matles, for help with wordpress and anything else you need to create your PFP.
