In researching Douglaston-Little Neck, I had a difficult time finding archived information surrounding the community. The Little Neck Chronicle, Douglaston-Little Neck’s last local newspaper, closed in 1976. The only archived photo of Little Neck in the Library of Congress was also taken in 1976 by John Margolies (as seen above).

However, in trying to find any sources that gave archived information and photos of the neighborhood, I stumbled upon this Facebook group.

Comprised of a little over 2,700 members (some still living in the community but many having already moved away), this small Facebook group had the most comprehensive selection of photos, newspaper clippings and souvenirs of Douglaston-Little Neck I had seen anywhere online. These community-members were keeping a better record of this town than anywhere else on the internet. Therefore, this exhibit is not only an exhibit depicting records of the community, it will also be the only database outside of a Facebook group that will house these photos.
