When seeing or listening to a work of art we can see the truth. Sometimes it may be harder than others. You must focus and pay attention to what the artist is expressing. However, the artists truth maybe be different than your truth and your truth may be different than another’s truth. Feeling the truth however may be a bit more natural. It maybe be closer to the truth that the artist feels. This is because feeling something is much more emotional than seeing it. By feeling the truth, we feel it in our emotions, we may cry, smile, laugh or even become angry. This may be how the artist was feeling before or even during his or her creation

Dance is a Language
Dance is a language. But it is obviously not a spoken language. It is similar to sign language in that it can be understood no matter what language(s) u speak. However it is very different because its interpretation can change based on the person. It allows the speaker (dancer) to express his or herself in a way words cannot always do. Also the ability of the dance to be interpreted in many different ways enhances the language.
Brooklyn Bridge in the Morning Timez!
My picture shows some similarities but also some differences from Hassam’s painting. My picture has a similar background of this part f the Brooklyn Bridge. Both images show a cloudy background. They both lack the ability to see a blue sky. However Hassam’s cloudiness is is different because of the winter setting. Also my picture is different because it shows the bridge in a more peaceful setting with no people while Hassam’s painting shows it as busy, possibly during rush hour where people are commuting to or from work or home. I haven’t been to the Brooklyn Bridge in quite a while and while I was there, I didn’t pay much attention to it. This assignment made me think about it in a different way especially since i now had Hassam’s painting to further give me a sense of interest. This makes me think about it more as art and not just a way of transportation. I now realize that it shows a great deal of architectural technique and creativity and is not just a simple bland bridge.
Self Portrait
1. Art is a way for one to freely express his or herself. Art has to limitations beyond the artists imagination and creativity. Art is the ultimate form of expression because it can not be confined to material things. Though art maybe be expressed through material things such as pen and paper, the possibilities that the artist can express with these material things are endless.
2. My favorite art form is music. I personally believe that music is the greatest way that one can express emotion of any kind. Emotion can be expressed by the key of the song. Even without lyrics, one can tell the mood of the music by just listening to the music. I feel like music is a stronger version of poetry which has no music behind it. Although poetry is great music adds another element to make it even stronger. Also in music, lyrics aren’t just read but they are sung to match the music further showing the key and therefore the emotion of the music.
3. My academic strength is my dedication to getting my work done and my non-academic strength is my creativity.
4. I am comfortable with new technologies usually because they are a lot like older technologies except with something else added to them. That way i already kind of understand it and i only have to learn the little bit of new stuff. Most technology is similar anyway so i can usually relate new technology to something that already exists.
5. I would rate my writing skills as 8/10. I feel like i am a good writer but there is always room for improvement. I can handle writing essays well and i am also a somewhat good songwriter. However, i think i can still be better.
