Prof. Blot’s Seminar 4–Homepage
Because of disagreements between homeless advocates and city government, independent information on the problem of urban homelessness can be difficult to find. The goal of this website is to show how college students have sifted through information on homelessness in New York City and come to their own conclusions about this social problem. This website showcases the work of Macaulay Honors College sophomores at Lehman College, CUNY, working with Prof. Richard Blot.
Blot developed this course around the theme of homelessness to unify students’ research projects on the future of New York City. This is the first year in which students have published their research online. They’ve used Macaulay’s e-portfolio system for group communication, presentation of bibliographies and outlines to their professor and one another, and will finally publish their findings for the benefit of others.
