Welcome to the German-American community of Staten Island

The largest wave of German immigrants came to the United States  between the years of 1846 and 1853. Since then, the German American community has flourished, particularly on Staten Island. Though it has now begun to diminish, the heritage is still very strong on the island and is still evident in the forms of various cultural institutions.
