We went to several different eateries and searched for exquisite cuisine.
We chose to do this because we are proud BEAVERS. Go CITY!!!!!
We learned how to use google maps and embed them in websites!!

Levain Bakery- Authentic French Treats

We used our flipcams to record a typical day at the Levain Bakery. Then we used Imovie to create our video.

We chose this place because someone introduce us to it before, and we want to use this chance to try out the famous bakery goods.

We learned that their food is definitely delicious, and that it was a great find within the neighborhood. We learned to detach the audio from the film, used transitions, and inserted our own music.  Their cookies are the most well-known in their bakery goods.

Don’t forget to stop by and try it for yourself!

Magnolia

From Baruch:         Sophie Chen     Shirley Cheung    Claudia Ho    Vera Verba

We explored Magnolia Bakery on Columbus Ave at 69 street to discover the many wonders that are made for New York City’s taste buds.  We chose this because this is a bakery that is popularly known and mentioned in movies and TV shows such as Sex and The City and The Devil Wears Prada.  We learned that cupcakes can bring together New Yorkers after a horrible snow storm.  Magnolia

67th Street Project

Our group made an interactive time line based on the important events that occurred throughout the Magnolia Bakery’s history in Manhattan. A couple of our group members have walked past the bakery’s locations and wanted to learn more about the store. We learned how to use dipity.com, and research the important events in a business’ history. We also learned about how Magnolia Bakery was a forefront in the cupcake craze and how it is still successful today.

Cheap Eats!

Cheapo <– Click Here to see our slide show

This is our layout for the cheap eats around 67th and Columbus.

1. We went around the neighborhood and found the cheapest restaurants for college kids.

2. We chose it because we love food and it’s on the go.

3. We learned how to use Gimp and utilize iPhoto as well. The people around the area are friendly and willing to help us on our project.
