My five favorite posts were The Indian Burial Grounds Under Lincoln Center, Fresh Experience, Walk Along Broadway, Zara, and Fun at Barnes and Noble. I enjoyed the one about the Indian burial grounds because it was a satire on movies such as National Treasure, and it was comical. By using the camera to capture interviews, the project was done in the style of a documentary, which made it enjoyable to watch. Similarly, the video on Fresh Experience was documentary like as well. I liked the use of the google map in Walk Along Broadway. This way I could really picture the juxtaposition of places that were visited. If I were to do this project, I would probably use the flip cam to record the adventure so as to give the viewer a visual portrayal of my experience, as well as put in music and affects to make the project more appealing.

Adventures at Barnes and Noble

What did you do? We explored Barnes and Noble on 66th Street and Columbus Avenue.
Why did you choose it? Well, we first went to Magnolia bakery but there were already Macaulay people filming there. So, after our quick (and unhealthy) snack, we decided to feed our minds as well as our stomachs.
What did you learn? While there is a large selection of books, it can be a little overwhelming. If all you want to do is browse, Barnes and Noble is definitely the place to go. However, if you are a serious book-buyer, we’d suggest a smaller store.

We videotaped window displays in various stores along Columbus Avenue, then created a map on GoogleMaps and linked videos of the window fronts to their locations on the map.
We stopped in Thomas Drugs to buy batteries for our flipcam, noticed their pretty window display, and decided to look for other interesting window displays nearby.
We learned how create a map on GoogleMaps, save our own points, and embed YouTube videos onto them.

We went to Barnes and Noble and took many different photos documenting our jouney . Using the photos we created a stop motion video. We also took video of many key points such as the new Nook e-book reader and the artwork around the store.
We chose to do a photo essay of Barnes and Noble because it is a mecca of people and diversity. It’s a great place to find information, grab a cup of coffee, and relax in the heart of Lincoln Center.
We learned that many different people can have things in common. An array of characters are able to conglomerate in higher learning and delicious coffee.
Barnes and Nobles: Our Modern Day Saloon
Today we went to Barnes and Nobles, a favorite place to read and relax. Upon entering Barnes and Nobles and noticing the vast number of books on controversial topics, we realized that Barnes and Nobles is the modern day Saloon, for intellectuals to gather and discuss their ideas. We reaffirmed our love for Barnes and Nobles.
