Based on the census from 2000 to 2010 the population of the minorities (African Americans, Hispanics, etc.) has decreased and there has been an influx of White nonhispanic and Asian nonhispanic in the borough of Brooklyn.

A five-year census survey estimated that 42 percent of the area’s 26,982 residents were black, 27 percent white, 19 percent Hispanic, and 8 percent Asian. The proportion of whites rose 13 percent since 2000, census data show, while the share of blacks shrunk 15 percent.

 

2015 Census (Kings County)

The 30% Black in Kings County is more than double the rate in New York (14%).
