We chose this photograph from the ‘A Tactile Table’ series because we felt it was symbolic of our feelings as either on the edge of great success or the edge of dropping out.
I completely agree with you. So much pressure has to be placed on us to get into a good college. We did it, we got here, but now what? While we still can rely on our parents, friends and teachers, we now have to think for ourselves and do what we feel is right. No longer are we in high school where are classes are chosen for us and our friends can be facilitated by our parents. We are college students, out in the “real world.” Our choices matter and they can’t be made by anyone, but us alone. What classes we choose, what major we decide on going into is all on us. Hopefully, we are on the “edge of great success” and will be able to make it out of college with a degree and a job.
