I’m the kind of person who likes to be in a crowd but never gets lost in it because I make my presence known. I want people to get to know me through my presence in person and I will let anyone know anything about me because I love to talk and I don’t believe that anything I hide will conceal a specific trait. Growing up in Park Slope has helped shape me into this person, but I have been able to look back and see why I love who I am so much. In Park Slope, you can’t get from Point A to Point B without running into a neighbor, a client, a family member, an awkward acquaintance or a well-liked friend of a friend of a friend. For this reason, I have learned never to leave the apartment without putting on makeup. (Style is important to me.) Everyone is always walking along 7th Avenue with friendly intentions and desire to converse. Whether it is a nod hello or a chat turned heated ranting, Park Slopers are not afraid to carry themselves well and speak what is on their mind. Because the Park Slope values have been ingrained in me, I can identify the parts of my personality with the true (and sometimes stereotypical) characteristics of the neighborhood.
