I am really surprised your mother gave up her spot in the 5-year biomedical program at City College since it is so prestigious! However, I admire how she followed what she wanted and made a living for herself all on her own working at the hotel.

I understand why your mom couldn’t do both Sophie Davis and work, their program is legendary for being difficult. I can’t imagine working while going to a school like that. I sort of worked for the Flushing branch of CPC. It is a good organization for Chinese people, they were also nice to me even though I was white. Ha ha.
