About Clare Carroll

Professor Carroll took her B.A. from Oberlin College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. She is a Professor of Comparative Literature at both Queens College and The Graduate Center, CUNY, where she directs the Renaissance Studies Certificate Program. She has had a Fulbright Fellowship, and has won grants from the NEH, IACI, and the Folger Shakespeare Institute. Having lectured at universities in Montreal, Istanbul, Rome, Cambridge, Dublin, and Venice, she loves travel, especially when it is combined with research in the cultural history of the European Renaissance.
