On Saturday, September 24th 2011, we visited the Chelsea Art Galleries which featured works by Nick Cave, Deborah Butterfield, Stefanie Gutheil, Ingo Günther, and many more artists from around the globe. I’d have to say that my favorite piece is Home Within Home by Do Ho Suh at the Luhmann Maupin Gallery. It shows the clash between his Korean culture identity with his American identity by portraying his home in Korea with the home he took in Rhode Island smashed together by a tornado or some other natural disaster.

The model is extremely well crafted, with everything perfectly to scale, down to the turkey roasting in the oven. I can relate to this work of art because it is extremely architectural and involves the subject of “home,” a place which I hold very dear.
