The project for this year’s week long intensive design and construction workshop is to build a cabin for the Hunter and the Artist. During the week participants are introduced to emerging design processes through hands-on construction. Under blue a sky we will design directly on site, and then fabricate the components at Rigidized Metals Digital Milling Shop. Working directly with experts, and craftsmen we will engage architecture directly, both theoretically and physically on site. This year, the goal of the studio is to explore the relationship between a Hunter + Artist, and the digital and analog by building a cabin for both users on the Five Sisters Farm in Perrysburg, NY.
Seven applicants selected from the open call will work closely with experts in environmental design, digital fabrication, master craftsmen, and practicing professionals on site, developing practical, technological, and ecological skills.
