Bay Ridge, like the rest of New York City, is known for its religious diversisty. Here, you’ll find Irish and Italian Christians in the south and Middle Eastern Muslims and Christians in theĀ north. We chose the following houses of worship not only to represent this religious diversity, but also to give an overview of the new, unique, and historically rich churches of Bay Ridge. The first two churches, Holy Cross and St. Mary’s, are among the newest churches in Bay Ridge, constructed in the 1950s. St. Patrick’s and Our Lady of Angels are two of the oldest churches present with the richest histories. Finally, the Salam Arabic Lutheran Church and Islamic Society are two of the most unique houses of worship we could find in Bay Ridge.
