Very rusty…

Normally I’m living on campus at The Towers, but this week I found myself at home for a few days. In between the midterm I took and all the homework I had to do, I picked up my cello for the first time in over two months. I didn’t realize how much I missed it. I definitely miss playing in an orchestra setting since the coronavirus had cancelled my spring concert as well as my high school’s spring musical, Guys and Dolls, where I was playing cello in the pit orchestra. It’s kind of crazy how much technique I’ve lost after going from playing around 6 hours a week to absolutely nothing for two months.

Anyways, here’s an excerpt from the Prelude of Bach’s second cello suite (a piece I played for NYSSMA a few years ago). Like I said in the title, it’s very rusty and you can also tell by my disgusted face at the end that was definitely not my best performance lol.
