I found this play to be a very mixed bag, though not through any fault of it’s own. The constrictions of any sort of production of working over a zoom call made it essentially impossible to live up to the real thing, even if, like in this case, you could tell there was a lot of effort put into the production. Regardless, I always enjoy the revamping of old tales from antiquity, or from any point in the past, as they are all almost sure to be good, on account of the fact that they survived this long in the first place. Antigone is no different, and it’s particularly impressive that they were able to string along the themes of a play centuries old onto problems of the modern world.
