Skyfall

Thanks to my nice friend Vivian, I got to watch Skyfall tonight, and thanks to the storm half the theater was empty!

I loved it, so I thought I’d write a review about it, well as much as possible without spoiling anything.

Honestly I’m not a fan of Daniel Craig, but it’s not like I don’t like him either. His acting was pretty good in the film, okay really good, I just don’t really like him in certain scenes where his body language seems really stiff. I guess part of the reason is that his portrayal of James Bond is just really different, much more serious/ unemotional compared to the previous Bonds. Some scenes also seemed a bit awkwardly placed, but then again what would a James Bond movie be without a few random sexual encounters.

As for Judi Dench … I love Judi Dench (insert fangirl scream here). But seriously speaking, she almost made me cry at the end of the film.

I really want to go into more detail, but I’m so afraid of spoiling things for you guys before you watch it, cause I know your all definitely going to watch it … right?

When you do go to watch it, definitely keep an eye out for the references to the Previous 007 films, and by previous I mean, before Daniel Craig became Bond. If your a fan of the past ones you will definitely appreciate the fond memories they bring back or some of the jokes they make. There’s also one point in the film, near the middle I believe, where they incorporated a very nice and ironic use of symbolism that I personally appreciated more than I probably should have.

I also really liked how they brought in a topic a lot of people actually talk about in real life, which is the new generation versus the old.

Oh, and one more thing: the phallic symbol in the beginning of the film, the one the bad guy whips out, got me good; I could not resist the urge to laugh. Yep I’m childish.

You guys should seriously go watch it,

Derick

P.S. Adele is an amazing foreshadower.

P.P.S. Oh my god the twists, some parts are a bit easy to see coming but not until the very moment before it happens. Although there is one thing that you can see coming from a mile away, but that has to do with M.

Now, I may not know anything about this movie, but once I knew that Adele sang Skyfall I just had to post the YouTube link to her singing, because she is absolutely and completely amazing.

now we may not agree on Britney’s talent, but we certainly agree that Adele is amazing!
I could listen to this song all day.

HAHA. Britney will forever and always be amazing, sir. But yes, she cannot compete with the one and only Adele when it comes down to pure vocal ability and skill – in music and performance. Britney still rocks though! 🙂

Oh yes, I also wanted to make note that many people on YouTube have referred to the “foreshadowing” Adele’s Skyfall has. Very interesting! Hope you didn’t spoil too much!!
