Jason Farkas has resided in New Jersey for most of his life, but has recently lived in Flushing, Queens in New York.  He is a descendant from the son of Ashkenazic Jews who emigrated from Hungary to America after surviving the Holocaust and WWII  on his father’s side and 3rd generation American’s on his mother’s side.

Racheal J. Singh was born in and has lived in Queens, New York her entire life. She currently lives in South Richmond Hill. Racheal’s family began moving to New York City from the late 1980s and continues to settle  in New York. Racheal’s family moved to New York City from Guyana. Her family had lived in Guyana for many generations. Prior to Guyana, Racheal’s ancestry links to India.

Nick Anton was raised in Flushing, Queens New York and has lived in Queens for his entire life.  Nick’s family moved to Queens from Harlem and Little Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, and settled in Flushing when the neighborhood was built up in the 1940s.  His family who migrated from southern Europe shared the immigrant experience that many Italian and Greek settlers to Astoria lived through in the earlier part of the neighborhoods history.

Isaac Pulatov has spent his whole life in Queens, and now lives in the neighborhood of Fresh Meadows. He is a Bukharian Jew, whose parents came from the relatively unknown countries of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. His family was part of a major wave of immigration following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and one of many Bukharian families that settled in Rego Park and Forest Hills in the 1990s.

Jennifer Itty was born in Mineola, New York. She currently lives in Long Island after spending some years on the West Coast. Jennifer’s parents are second-generation immigrants who came to New York with their parents in the 1960s. As her family emigrated from India in search of economic opportunities, they first settled in Manhattan and later moved to Jamaica, Queens, and then to Long Island.
