Hi! My name is Joyce Louie and I am a Biomedical Engineering major.  I originally came in with a Biology major, but decided to switch to engineering last minute. In high school, I was in the Gateway to Medicine program, which put me into a lot of science classes and did not give me a lot of exposure to any subjects that were not science related. I felt that Biomedical Engineering would allow me to slightly explore outside of just straight science, without drifting too far from a Biology-centered major. I’ve always had a general interest in science, particularly anything that has to do with animals, but I am not particularly passionate about one specific topic. I like them all!

I live in Brooklyn and am a commuter, so 4-hour subway rides roundtrip make up a large chunk of my day. Other than that, I enjoy cooking, eating, watching Youtube videos and listening to music. I’m a fan of Korean-Pop music and Nicholas Sparks books.
