The Genius behind…
Once upon a time I was a justice league fan. Although I never really memorized all the names of the superhero’s or the special powers they possessed, I was always enthralled with the fighting and mystery in the series. I loved seeing superman deflect all the bullets with his body, watch the green lantern make remarkable shapes out of his ring, and most of all, laugh with the Flash’s sense of humor. I regularly watched all the episodes of the justice league show and have dutifully been to the theater for all the current superhero movies. But I never took the effort to research behind the action, and find out the genius who made these heroes come to life.
I really liked Vincent’s presentation on Stan Lee because it was thoroughly enlightening and it brought up a lot of childhood memories. Vincent’s presentation never got banal and every slide contained interesting and enjoyable information. For example, I never knew that comic heroes represented different times in American history. I was so enthralled by this information that I spent a good amount of time researching and finding out more about the origins and the inspiration behind each superhero. Stan Lee’s biography was also very interesting. I agree with Vincent that he is an ideal artist who started with a meager background and through hard work, dedication and talent became a world-renowned comic artist. I was thoroughly surprised that that Stan Lee makes a cameo appearance in the various hero movies. I have watched almost all of these movies but I never saw an “old man” make repetitive appearances.
My attention was fully grabbed by the interesting tidbits in Vincent’s presentation, such as that the Hulk and x-men used to be gray. Vincent was completely into his presentation, and he drew me in with his enthusiasm and passion. Throughout the two days of presenting, the first impression of the presentations was definitely the lasting impression for me.
