I really enjoyed this documentary because it shows how Petit overcame personal challenges to achieve what many called the most artistic crime ever attempted. I liked how it dove deeper into the mind of the seemingly-crazy Petit, a man who lived life on the edge both literally and figuratively. Prior to watching this movie and researching more about Phillippe Petit, I assumed that he had permission to stage such a daring act. The documentary showed me that he had to overcome challenges from mounting the wire to evading the guards as he made his way to the top of the towers. It was incredible to think that someone would break the law, and endanger his own life, purely for the joy and freedom of walking on a tightrope suspended hundreds of feet above New York City.
