Hey guys! I chose to do some research on photographer Lewis Hine, a sociologist and photographer who was instrumental in facilitating social reform in the U.S. Hine used his camera to expose the atrocities of child labor in the country and the difficult conditions that young children faced in the workplace. This particular photo shows two children on top of what looks like a textile machine, where one slip can cause serious injury. Due to Hine’s work, more people saw the dangers of child labor and worked to create laws that made it illegal.
