Snapshot NYC – Samhita

The spirit of mélange stops by to eavesdrop and learn the feelings of common people towards her. She is gladly welcomed by the beautiful colors of the fall. She takes a drink at the fountain. It tastes sweeter than the fountain in her Elysian lawns. She discovers the reason is the love for her by the common people sitting around her. Though they cannot see or feel her, they recognize her presence. They happily accept fascinating mixture of ethnicities. Hence she walks out of the arch victoriously, reaches the top of the tower and eventually dissipates into her adobe spreading her magical fragrance all over again.

I really like the second picture, especially the way you captured the fountain in between the stone arches. I feel like the presence of people in the photograph also help depict a more concrete image of New York City landscape.

I am also a fan of the second photo. The fountain seems to be within the stone arch, which is beautiful. I also like the plants in the foreground.

I really like the second picture since it seems to incorporate the famous NYC hot dog stands, tourists, skyscrapers and of course, trees. As Sophia mentioned, the stone arc appears as a really nice parameter for the fountain.

I like the mythical, ethereal aspect of this and think it could be strengthened by focusing the scene more tightly through descriptive, concrete language. for example, replace “common people” with actual figures; replace “beautiful colors of fall” with an image of fall; use an image to suggest “Fascinating mixtures of ethnicities,” etc.
