Using this Site

This website is hosted by Eportfolios at Macaulay Honors College, a blogging and site creation platform running on WordPress.

Weekly Writing Assignments

To  post your weekly writing assignments, create a new post. To do so, you need to log in with your Eportfolio account. Go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New. Alternatively, you can click the + New button on the dark gray bar on top.

After you’ve created your post, categorize your post accordingly. This will ensure that your post appears in the designated section on the website. To do so, check the appropriate category that corresponds to the assignment under the header “Categories.” For example, if you are completing the weekly assignment that is due on Sept 18, a comparison of John Berger and Alice Elizabeth Chase’s works, you should check “Berger-Chase Comparison.”

 Adding Images

To add images to your post, click the “Add Media” button above the editor box in which you are creating your post. You may choose from an image that has already been uploaded onto the site or upload a file from your computer.

Always Give Credit Where Credit is Due!

Be sure to attribute any materials that are created by someone else. In the case of digital images of artworks, list the artist name, title and source (the url where the image was obtained). The attribution can be entered in the caption field of the image. For a more elegant presentation, you can hyperlink your source instead of copy and pasting the entire url.

See the example below. Note that the hyperlinked text, “Wikimedia Commons,” is linked to the site where the file of this image was obtained.
