Wired

I remember when we went to a Korean art gallery at Chelsea many people found the pieces strange or plain boring, but I found some really beautiful and innovative pieces by a Korean Artist: http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2012/04/ephemeral-portraits-cut-from-layers-of-wire-mesh-by-seung-mo-park/.

Each piece looks very real, some almost like an old photograph, but it is actually made out of wire upon wire upon wire that is either cut or manipulated a certain way. Kudos to the artist for such amazing work, as it probably takes a lot of time and tedious work to create these pieces.

  1. Wow, these are exceptional pieces of art. I honestly would not know or realize that these paintings are formed from the collaboration of wires. This art is related to the piece of art of Peter’s project “Dream Big” (the post above), in that, it is also a completely innovative idea and extremely time consuming and tedious type of work as well. At first, like Lisa stated in her blog, I felt the art pieces were some old types of photographs or black and white sketched drawings, but the idea of using wires fascinates me and I would love to visit this Korean gallery very soon. These pieces of work are worth praise.

  2. Damn, pieces like these make me wish I had an ounce of talent these people have. I truly admire their dedication and commitment to a lifestyle that they enjoy living. And I am in awe of the vision that these artists have, meaning I am fascinated by the scale of their imagination. For example if it were me trying to make such large pieces I’d have to walk a distance away from the piece every two minutes just to check if it was coming out as I wanted it to. P.S I might be visiting the infinity room soon so I may drop by this artist’s gallery then =D
