#1 On Music Charts (updated: 5/11/11)
BoA is a multilingual (fluent in Japanese, English, and Korean, and has also recorded a song in Mandarin Chinese) Korean pop sensation active in South Korea, Japan, and the United States. In 2008, BoA made her American debut with the song Eat You Up, which was part of her self-titled all-American album, BoA. The song was very successful, despite its lack of promotion, and was ranked #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. The music video for Eat You Up offered two versions for the public, Version A directed by Korean Cha Eun Taek while Version B was directed by Diane Martel of LA, California. Version A won more viewers and praise with its clean choreography and substory of a group of street dancers breaking into the audition room for a classic school of arts while Version B was heavily criticized by fans.
