Reading Journal

Description of Reading Journals

Reading journals will help you examine assigned readings more critically and in depth. You determine how you want to respond to readings. You might write a summary of the readings. You could identify key excerpts of text to respond to—agreeing with, questioning, connecting with other readings or related issues. Or you might write questions about ideas you want to explore further or that you want to better understand. A good source for this will be notes you take as you read.

Journals should be posted bi-weekly to the course blog by class time. They should be a minimum of half a page. You will most likely write beyond that frequently.

When you make your posts, remember to categorize them correctly.
