About Sealy Gilles

Sealy Gilles moved to New York after completing her undergraduate degree at Carleton College. She holds a Ph.D. from City University of New York Graduate Center and has taught at the NYU School of Continuing Education, Westchester Community College, and Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. She is currently serving as Co-Chair of the English Department at LIU. Professor Gilles teaches a wide range of courses in early literatures, with some excursions into non-Western literatures and Irish literature and culture. Research interests include medieval and early modern British literature, Irish literature, and cultural responses to epidemic disease.
