Formations and Shapes in Dance

The first Act was based mostly on partner work. The act starts with all the partners and one group of three entering the stage from both sides. this formation sticks for most of this scene with the formation changing only when one of the partners or group is emphasized. Throughout the different parts of this act the dancers danced with their partners or performed a solo. There were parts in which there were group of threes and the formations during this part was mostly linear. The first Act ended with the same formation as the beginning.

The second act was a narration so the shapes were not very clear. Although there were separate groups  and individuals that stood out during the whole act, there were no general shape or formation that could be identified.

The third act is similar to the first act in that only the beginning and ending really have a formation or shape worth noting. The beginning of the act starts off with the dancers in a circle. They used this circle to transition into the next part of the dance. When it was time to end the act the dancers returned to the circle formation.
