Fall For Dance at City Center

The Fall for Dance performance was absolutely incredible. I have always been into dance performances since I was younger and all through my academic years I have performed in all dance shows leading up to high school. It was a beautiful experience and the four groups had different types of dances and each was amazing in its own way.

I focused on rhythm through the performances. Starting off with the Miami City Ballet Company, it was a unison ballet dance that was very in sync and put together with classical music. Although it was the most formal dance performance, they still had a twist on ballet and made the performance all the more fun to watch. The movements were exact and pointed at all times. Moving onto the Vincent Monsoe dance, this solo performance was extremely powerful and emotional. It was very intriguing to watch because the performer was telling us a story and it developed throughout his solo. The movements were so strong and carried so much power and feelings with every move. The Trisha Brown performance was so interesting because it was a duet mirrored performance and the two girls were modern dancers that replicated the exact movements at the same time. It was very beautiful. There was a lot of flow throughout the piece and soft and swift-like movements. Last but not least, my favorite performance the Dorrance Dance tap dance. It was an energetic and crowded piece with lots of postivity and energy that passed on to the audience. Everyone was feeling the music and the moves throughout the audience. The performers were so easy going and seemed to be having so much fun tap dancing on stage and it was absolutely amazing.
