It has been a very disorienting feeling for me, but at the same time an eye-opening experience because I have not seen many of the things I saw during this semester. Even though it was the most confusing I thought that the abstract art works might have had the most profound effect on me. This may be because they are like an intricate puzzle. It’s very cryptic and mysterious. I think it had an effect on me because of that disorienting feel that you get when you look at an abstract piece of art. Unlike other things you can easily relate to things that you know but abstract art has this I have no idea what’s going on feel. Like my trip to the Rubin Museum but there was so much to it. The layers and layers of culture, history, and religion that had to be understood to fully understand the works of art. But then I slowly began to piece things together. I think this is part of the allure of art. This process of learning and understanding new things.
