Celebrating Asian Heritage

Once again, this year, Queens College has partnered with APIA Scholars, an organization which provides financial assistance, professional development and mentoring to students of Asian, Asian-American and Pacific Islander backgrounds.  Over the years, this has been a fruitful relationship, with QC students receiving generous funding and opportunities to connect with members of the AAPI community from around the country.  If you are a Queens College undergraduate student, you may be eligible to apply for two scholarships offered by APIA scholars.  You can read more here, and you can get in touch with our Office of National Fellowships for assistance with the application, including the required essays by emailing QCfellowships@qc.cuny.edu. The deadline is November 10th so why not get started today!

We are also very pleased to share a recording of an event the Fellowships Office hosted in May as part of the college’s campus-wide celebration of Asian Heritage month.  President Frank H. Wu provided important historical and contemporary context for our conversation with two QC alumnae who generously shared their experiences of AAPI identity, tips for successful fellowship and graduate school applications, and resources for professional development.  Whether you identify as a member of the AAPI community or not, you are bound to be enriched by this important conversation.

If you are interested, please sign in here so we can follow up with you. Good luck!
