Nyabinghi is a drum-based music played at Rastafari celebrations called “groundings.” Nyabinghi is solely created with drums in a steady symmetrical, 4/4 beat. This music is usually accompanied with much dancing and celebration.2
Nyabinghi was the first form of truly Rasta music. The use of drums really amplify the deep connection between Africa and the Rastafari movement.
