The Rastafari religion and culture is so tied to it’s music, you could say that the music of the Rastas signify the heart of their movement. Music provides a form of expression unparalleled by any other, and Rasta music, especially Reggae, promote the religion and culture through lyrics. The likes of Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, and the Wailers have changed the face of the Rastafari movement. The importance of music in context of Rasta culture is so immense, because it helped propel the movement.

The three main genres of Rasta music are Ska, Rocksteady, and Reggae.1 Of course there are hundreds of derivatives, but these are the core three.
